Yes you can do this alone. I am just there to help cue and facilitate. It’s all about the lengthening / elongation as you flex from the hip forward and up. Keep the rib cage / sternum high, as your chin goes to the ceiling. Try not to round the back, or drop the rib cage. This specific way of stretching is perfect for the personal trainer client relationship. It also has value for specificity in regards to the perfect way to perform a hamstring complex stretch. I use the term “Complex” for the fact that there are three hamstrings, or muscles that flex the knee…and I/we need to make sure we are not wasting time during our self facilitated stretches.
