I find the regional opposition is lacking with ankle weights. Think about it- A long lever coming off the pelvis- we distal load between the two longest levers in the body…the femur and the tibia. Who is the fall guy? The knee joint- so why stress the fall guy when we need it to stand! HA! This way (I own this move baby!) I can load directly through the entire lower chain…get it? I also have the ability to control the load.
